Bonito flakes and Japanese assorted chilli pepper can be found at Asian grocers.
5 tbsp Japanese soy sauce
5 tbsp mirin seasoning
⅓ cup water
1½ cup bonito flakes
2 tsp KEWPIE Mayonnaise
1 cup steamed rice
Japanese assorted chilli pepper, to taste
1 sheet yaki nori for sushi, shredded, to taste
1. Mix soy sauce, mirin, water and bonito flake in a sauce pan. Bring to boil, then strain out the bonito flake and set aside.
2. Mix mayonnaise and egg in a bowl, then pour over the steamed rice. Splash 3 tsp of sauce mixture over the egg and microwave for 1 minute (in 1000W microwave). Remove from microwave.
3. Drizzle 1 tsp of sauce mixture over the egg, sprinkle of chilli pepper and nori on and serve hot.
